Indirect Cost Policy

Basis Research Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit applied research organization. The budget for each award should reflect all of the expenses that are required for, and can be tracked directly to, the funded project. We call these costs “direct costs.”

Basis does not provide funding for indirect costs. Our indirect cost rate is 0% of direct costs. This means that the full value of funds awarded by Basis goes directly toward the agreed-upon project activities, with no allowance for facilities and administrative (F&A) overhead.
