Sonja Johnson-Yu

Sonja Johnson-Yu is a research intern at Basis and a PhD candidate in computer science at Harvard, advised by Kanaka Rajan. Her research focuses on understanding animal communication by modeling the interplay between signaling and collective behavior in groups of agents trained with multi-agent reinforcement learning, with the goal of building AI systems that illuminate how animals use signals to coordinate and compete.
